Geotech began as a specialty machine shop in 1956 and, after partnering with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in 1978 to develop new technology and products for the emerging U.S. Trace Metals Analysis Program, rapidly became an international leader in the manufacture and distribution of environmental equipment. The bladder pumps, peristaltic pumps, 0.45-micron sampling filters, and filter holders we introduced for the USGS Water Quality Program rapidly became the industry standard, and innovative technology, superior workmanship, and a dedication to customer service keeps the company at the forefront of the industry today.

Geotech became a leader in the remediation marketplace by acquiring Oil Recovery Systems (ORS) in 1997, and Keck Instruments Inc. in 1999, along with the quality lines of instrumentation upon which these companies’ solid reputations had been built. Under the auspices of Geotech’s highly skilled engineering department, existing product lines were improved and enhanced, creating for Geotech an extensive, sophisticated inventory which few competitors can rival.

The 2005 acquisition of the Marschalk Corporation and its highly respected groundwater monitoring and sampling line, further positioned Geotech as an unquestioned leader in the environmental field.

To better serve a rapidly-growing clientele, satellite offices were opened in Michigan, Florida, North Carolina, Texas and Vermont. The corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility expanded to a 35,000 square foot location in 1999, the same year they opened their European office in Spain. Geotech expanded again in 2006 to a 125,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility boasting eight acres for additional future expansion. Infrastructure and processing upgrades in both the manufacturing and order processing sectors have since been implemented.

As a company, Geotech has adopted cost-saving “Lean Manufacturing Processes” in most production procedures, and uses direct input from clients in both product development and improvement. Such client feedback has resulted in a stock of needed and requested equipment, perfectly suited to meeting the demands of today’s proactive environmental industry. If Geotech doesn’t build it, they will find a supplier who will.

This response to clients’ needs has also resulted in the recent expansion of Geotech’s rental inventory to include equipment for soil sampling, GPS locating, x-ray metals detection and Doppler water monitoring. Additionally, a partnership with Universal Plastics now allows on-site production of plastic extrusion products, and rounding out a complete inventory of environmental-grade tubing.

Geotech has sold to more than 20,000 companies worldwide. As we mark our 30th anniversary, we continue to build and support the industry with forward-looking products, philosophy and service. We continue to search for select representatives and distribution networks to supply the ever-growing international demand for our products. We continue our commitment to large inventories which enable us to ship immediately for sale or rental, and we continue to improve our manufacturing facilities, our highly-trained sales specialists, and our ability to provide what our clients want and need to ensure their own growth and profitability.
