| "They didn't think I could find an accurate PID that was humidity resistant – but they were shocked when I bought one for only $2,095.00!" "I found a very reliable PID that doesn't force me to buy a lot of things I don't need." Most of the time our clients buy PIDs (Photo Ionization Detectors) to screen soil samples and do head space analysis. There is nothing fancy, necessary or required in performing this work. Just a real need for a reliable instrument in a variety of field conditions. The biggest killer of productivity with a PID in the field is humidity. You've seen it, the PID readings steadily climb and max-out the instrument. The ever frustrating "Lamp Error" that leaves you stranded. All this translates into down-time! The Ion Science PhoCheck and FirstCheck line of PIDs feature a unique third electrode called a "fence electrode". This proven technology is designed to compensate for humidity and stabilize readings to increase accuracy. While no PID is completely immune to humidity, the PhoCheck and FirstCheck PIDs have proven themselves in the field to be extremely reliable in humid environments – this keeps you working! |
If your primary work entails basic air quality monitoring and soil screening, simply purchase the PhoCheck 1000. This is by far the simplest handheld PID on the market! This entry level PID provides a measurement range of 0.1 to 4000ppm and is priced at just $2095.00. No bells, no whistles, no huge learning curve, just a reliable workhorse of a PID that you can calibrate and use immediately. If your work requires an extended or a more precise detection range, data logging, or health and safety features, you may choose from the PhoCheck+ line of meters. With this upgradeable line of instruments, you will own a PID that will grow with YOUR needs – and you'll only pay for the features you need! The FirstCheck is a multigas detector with the same PID as the PhoCheck but with the added ability to sense O2, CO, H2S and explosive gases. You can select the 4000 model for VOC detection in ppm or the 6000 for VOC readings down to the ppb range. Get a cal kit at no charge with the purchase of a PhoCheck! See our specials below. |

Quality is the DifferenceWater level meters are the basic tool used by ground water professionals for measuring ground water levels. The Keck ET and ETL Portable Water Level Meters are designed and built to do this basic task reliably and accurately with ease of use. Reliability comes from quality construction using quality materials. The probes are made from stainless steel and Teflon® with isolated stainless steel contacts. The reels are made from non-ferrous machined polypropylene (ET) or steel (ETL), and the frames from solid aluminum; this makes them extremely sturdy as well as light. |
The Electrical Tape is made of stretch resistant steel for accuracy (1/100th of a foot) with polyethylene or optional Tefzel® coating. They come marked as either engineering scale or metric increments. The ET comes in 100, 200 and 300 foot models; the ETL (Long) is available in 500, 750 and 1000-foot models. The included tape guide protects the life of the tape. Keck portable water level meters incorporate many features that make them efficient for the user. An easily replaced 9-volt battery powers the audible and visible water contact alarm. The 5/8-inch probe is field replaceable (the smaller 3/8" option is not) to minimize aggravating work-stopping delays. Sensitivity can be adjusted with a control to prevent false triggering from cascading water in the well. A battery test switch is included so you will know if it is time to replace the battery before you go out into the field. An optional water resistant padded case is available to protect your instrument while its being transported or in storage. For more benefits using a Keck ET or ETL call 1-800-833-7958. Those who use a Keck know. |
