In-Well In-Situ In-Step with your needs The patented Geotech Plume Eater is a unique aggregation of five proven clean-up technologies: air stripping, air sparging, soil flushing, direct in-situ oxidation, and bioremediation. |
The Plume Eater creates a circulation pattern in the aquifer by drawing contaminated water into the well and through the Plume Eater. The oxygenated water is re-introduced into the aquifer without ever being brought to the surface, with no change in groundwater volume. This offers significant permitting advantages as the EPA has exempted groundwater circulation wells from the re-injection water quality standards associated with pump and treat systems. The standard application is generally targeted toward contaminants such as hydrocarbons, where aerobic bacteria effectively degrade contaminants. The introduction of oxygen strips away the VOCs while oxygenating the treated water before it is re-introduced deep into the formation. This process creates a convection flow where groundwater is pulled toward the recovery well rather than pushed away, as compared to other similar types of systems and processes, and it does this with minimal energy and no subsurface moving parts. In addition, the Plume Eater system enhances bio-remediation in the vadose zone. Oxygen is supplied to both the saturated zone and vadose zone to promote and enhance the natural aerobic degradation processes. The Plume Eater system can be used in confined or unconfined aquifers and is applied to geologic materials of wide ranging permeability. Contact Geotech to find out if the Plume Eater system can work for you. |

Although Geotech no longer offers the Tuff Tape as an option for Keck water level meters, it still has the MDPE Tape for customers to consider. Made from Medium Density PolyEthylene with stainless steel conductors, the MDPE can be ordered in engineering or metric increments. More flexible and less expensive than coated steel tape, it is also easier to repair. This tape will please fans of the Tuff Tape. |

2007 Ground Water Expo "Soar to Success!" is the theme as contractors, scientists and engineers, manufacturers, and suppliers are invited to come and be a part of an event where they may better understand the issues and challenges affecting today and tomorrow's ground water industry. Geotech will be at booth 605 in the exhibit hall. If you give us a call by November 12, we will be happy to bring along the equipment that YOU would be most interested in seeing and learning about while you are there. For more information. |
